 Two New Significant Press Releases

The Foundation has recently distributed two press releases supporting the efficacy and cost effectiveness of chiropractic care. Both will help to strengthen the Foundation’s discussions within the employer community. The releases highlight the findings of two significant studies “Manipulation or Microdisketomy for Sciatica? A Prospective Randomized Clinical Study,” which found spinal manipulation to be equally as beneficial as surgery in treatment of sciatica secondary to lumbar disk herniation and “Health Maintenance Care in Work-Related Low Back Pain and Its Association with Disability Recurrence,” which concluded chiropractic care to be more valuable for low back pain than physician care and physical therapy.

In addition to widespread media distribution, the Foundation plans to design an ad that will focus on the findings of these two studies, to be featured in prominent business publications.

Exposure at Business and Industry Events

 CDHC

The Foundation recently participated at the CDHC Solutions Forum East, May 11-12, 2011, in Atlanta, GA. Joining the F4CP representatives were two leaders from Life University- Dr. Ralph Davis, Dean of Clinics at Life University and Stella Peterson, Director of Human Resources at Life University.

Overall, the event was a success, from the continued presence at the booth, to Niteesh Choudhry’s presentation, to the impromptu partnership meetings. The F4CP representatives were able to connect with all participating vendors and a number of present attendees, including employers, TPAs, benefit brokers, consultants and regional health plan administers.

The reception of chiropractic care was great; everyone who visited the booth had another positive story to share. A number of other conversations held centered on on-site health clinics, sponsorship/partnership opportunities available and as always presented research sponsored by the F4CP supporting the efficacy of chiropractic.

As most are aware, the Foundation is sponsoring a white paper on the value of having a doctor of chiropractic as a member of the employer’s health clinic. Those interested in the topic of on-site clinics, please read the story below which recently appeared on the front-page of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

More and more corporations are establishing on-site health clinics, “42% of workplaces with 500 or more employees now have clinics that provide basic immunization, throat cultures and other care typically gotten at a doctor’s office…27% of the other employers are looking seriously to include a clinic...they all see numerous advantages of the clinics including the reduction in absenteeism because of having to travel to a doctor’s office.” To read more click here: “Company Doc makes a comeback...Employers see on-site health care clinics as a cut medical costs and increase productivity”.

 Webinars for the Month

The Foundation has a number of webinars which they will be sponsoring in the upcoming months.

On May 24, 2011 Kim and Tom Klapp, D.C. joined the Foundation representatives as they shared their expertise regarding Patient Communication. Reminder: On June 16, 2011 at 1 p.m. Est., General Becky Halstead will be hosting a F4CP webinar, where she will present a number of “Leadership Lessons”. Halstead is a spokesperson for the Foundation as well as an expert in leadership. Her presentation will run a little over an hour and those in attendance will walk away with key tips in becoming a more successful leader.

The continued growth of the Foundation is dependent on more doctors getting involved. All of the monthly contributors can be found at the website by name, not amount.
