January Newsletter This month's issue includes the following items:
The Foundation would like to wish you a Happy, Healthy and Successful New Year. The entire organization is excited to work together in 2012 to accomplish even more success for the chiropractic profession! We hope you enjoy this monthly newsletter for the constant stream of positive news and actions of the Foundation. With your continued support in helping us grow our contributor base we expect to reach new heights in chiropractic awareness in 2012! Parker Seminars 2012 - Las Vegas Parker Seminars is just around the corner and the Foundation will be in full force. We are co-sponsoring a fashion show with our newest retail partner, Dillard's at Fashion Show Mall. The show is scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2012, at 8:30 am and the theme will be consistent with that of the Parker program, "Building a Better You." Ten percent of everything purchased at either the Dillard's onsite boutique or their home location at Fashion Show Mall will be donated to the Foundation. The Foundation has initiated this partnership in an effort to increase its amount of corporate supporters. We are excited that we have been able to build relationships outside of the chiropractic community. Located directly next to the Foundation booth, #1517, the Dillard's 1000 sq. ft. booth will include top designer merchandise, beauty and style consulting, and a list of exciting events that will present opportunities to receive worthwhile giveaways. In addition to the Dillard’s experience, the Foundation will have three of its spokespersons in attendance to sign autographs and photos. We will be introducing our newest spokesperson, Olympian Terry Schroeder, DC. Dr. Schroeder is a two-time Olympic silver medalist and the head coach of the US men's Olympic water polo team -- that won a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and a silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Dr. Schroeder will coach the team in the 2012 London Summer Olympics. In addition, General Becky Halstead, the first woman in US history to command in combat at the strategic level in Iraq and a legendary chiropractic advocate, as well as former USMC Colonel Dr. Mark Losack, whose photo giving an adjustment in front of one of Saddam’s Palaces in Iraq is one you may already be familiar with, will also be in attendance. If you are a monthly contributor to the Foundation or are interested in becoming one, visit the Foundation booth to meet these heroes of the profession and receive an autograph as a sign of your support! Below is schedule of their appearances on Friday, January 20, 2012:

Earlier on in life, Field had experienced chronic pain and sought out chiropractic – which became the care responsible for his full recovery and new positive perspective on life. Being forever grateful, he has decided to capture his story within the Foundation’s materials, including a television public service announcement, ads and advertorials. His exceptional story is one that will help the Foundation expand its awareness campaign. Already prepared, is a two-minute video detailing Field’s hardship and recovery. The Foundation will be showcasing this video during their scheduled stage time, Friday, January 20, 2012 at 8:30 am at Parker Seminars. Please join us in celebrating another satisfied patient of chiropractic! To view the video, click here. The PR Report for 2011 is a comprehensive report of the various public relations activities in 2011 that brought about the generation of over 3.5 billion positive impressions. It includes not only the initiatives, but also the positive media that was generated. Please download a copy of the report from the Foundation’s website, www.f4cp.com and share it with your colleagues. Expand your vision with us on how much more we will accomplish with a larger percentage of the profession contributing! What an accomplishment! The Foundation is exceptionally grateful for its partnership with CPR Communications, the prominent public relations firm that has established an effective PR campaign with unprecedented results. Thanks to their pro bono services, the Foundation has provided the chiropractic profession with levels of success never before imagined. We look forward to future achievements. The Foundation had a very successful year in 2011, generating over 3.5 billion positive impressions. Our goal for 2012 is 5 billion. In year 2013, we hope to have 1 billion impressions per month. Our budget for 2012 will support this goal. However, if we can increase the level of financial support, these goals will easily be exceeded. If you are a contributor, please encourage others to join as well. The greater the support, the greater the success! The Foundation’s 2012 budget will continue to support its outreach program to the consumer public and the employer community. Our consumer efforts will seek to exceed the 3.5 billion positive impressions to 5 billion by presenting an accelerated PR campaign that includes a new social media component and a higher frequency of national advertisements – one per month in both USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. New this year, the ads will not only showcase the clinical value and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic, but they will also begin to introduce the public to some of the profession’s prominent doctors and celebrity supporters. Coming up: USA Today and The Wall Street Journal will feature the Foundation's Jerry Rice ad right in the middle of the playoffs – the third and fourth week of January 2012. Be sure to get a copy for your office! Following the success of our television public service announcements (PSA) in 2011, the Foundation will produce six new spots in 2012, bringing the total to 14 TV PSAs. These spots will be distributed to over 1,000 stations nationwide. In addition, the Foundation will produce four new radio spots that will be distributed to over 6,500 radio stations nationwide, bringing the total of radio spots to 11. We will also create eight new advertorials -- camera ready print ads -- that will be distributed to over 10,000 small and medium size newspapers nationwide, bringing the total of advertorials to 21. The Foundation's PSAs have great value and they never lose their timeliness. Spots produced several years ago are still in rotation at major networks nationwide. Please look to the end of this newsletter for statistics showcasing the coverage generated by several of our spots. This year, the Foundation will also continue its efforts in educating the public and chiropractic profession about the importance of the Medical Home Model. We will be targeting at least one state per month, where we will work with associations, colleges and individual doctor groups, when appropriate, to identify medical homes and provide opportunities. In addition, the Foundation will continue to participate at employer conferences, by exhibiting and sponsoring speakers to further promote our white papers that validate the cost-effectiveness and clinical efficiency of chiropractic. The Foundation is eager to begin heightening the results of its campaign, and we look forward growing our support within the profession! Last week, the Foundation traveled to New York to film a video that shares two testimonials of military servicemen who both experienced recovery through chiropractic. This video is available for viewing on the Foundation’s website: www.f4cp.com and will be playing at the Foundation's exhibit at Parker. If you are a monthly contributor, contact the Foundation or visit them at Parker to attain a copy of the spot! Another NFL Great Supports the Foundation NFL star Reggie Bush of the Miami Dolphins is the latest athlete to share his positive chiropractic experience with the public and profession. The Foundation is thrilled to have him join our roster of celebrity supporters. Please read his quote below, it is certainly one worth sharing! "As a professional athlete, I am highly competitive -- only accept the best. When it comes to healthcare, chiropractic is an essential service. It keeps my on-field performance at its highest level and contributes to the success of the entire team." -Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins As Terry Schroeder, DC, prepares his men’s water polo team for the Summer Games, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress points to the role of chiropractic care in promoting increased endurance, reduced risk of injury and enhanced performance. Timothy Ray, DC, FACO, ICSSD and Chair of the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS), an organization that represents sports chiropractic internationally, explains that chiropractic provides a valuable non-surgical, non-drug approach that meets Olympic participation requirements and keeps athletes competing at their peak skill level. Each year the FICS continues to make progress for sports chiropractic. For the first time in its history, the Pan American Games, October 14-30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Mexico, included chiropractic care as a core medical service available within its Village Polyclinic. Dr. Ray and Angela Salcedo, DC, president, International Sports Chiropractic Association (ISCA) and president, District of Columbia Chiropractic Association (DCCA) co-chaired the chiropractic team at the Pan American Games, which was comprised of 46 doctors. The Foundation will be distributing a detailed press release on this exceptional advancement for chiropractic following Parker. Look to the Foundation's website to attain a copy, www.f4cp.com.
